Romans 3:4 Let God be true and every man a liar.  In
his inimitable way Paul gives us both an offense, and defense for life on earth with these few words lets look closer. I apologize if this goes out on the news feed of those who are not a part of the MCC family but I can elaborate no further at this time as to the reason for this post.  Just know it has nothing to do with MCC or it's ministries directly.

Christian schools like all para-church organizations are always balanced on the head of a pin, the name tells the story if you look at it, Christian, school. The reality is that one must influence the other.  One way we like, adding Christian input to the business of school.

School in our day has been regulated and meddled with by Big Brother to the point that the very business of same has become an extension of  government itself; when this implement of government begins arbitrarily to influence the Church it becomes dangerous. Christian/ school for this reason has both entities balanced on the head if a pin.

While most have a good experience with Christian schools sometimes that is not the case. Look to the verse for the answer to WHY? I am and have been told for years that regulation (ever exasperating regulation and requirement) and reality ( in order to keep Christian schools affordable the idea of male educators and administrators is very difficult because in most families one parent has to have a strong income ) it is difficult to keep people where they belong.

Men doing the Church "work" they are called to, while women do the same is becoming increasingly hard. Still
these issues are settled in the Word!  Enrollment is a taskmaster as well, while most Christian schools stop short of seeing every child as a human representation of a tuition check, it does figure in. Then we are left with a
few options. Shall we put our children into the Godless public system? We could and some do for many reasons some very good. Do we home school? Some do, but not
all can.

Best case we make a calculated decision. In any case either Christian, or school will be compromised to some extent. We need a defense to combat such a
problem and that defensive  strategy is simple, we must remember that man is fallen including ourselves. Trusting in man you will be disappointed and hurt.  Every time, without exception, count on it. The best we can do and our only redeeming virtue is to parrot the Perfect Word, and the King it always directs us to. God alone is TRUE. We also must go on offense and, as our family had already decided to do, avoid these organizations of mans contrivance and design.

Few Churches today can say they are ordered and organized in strict adherence to God's truth, let alone these para-church organizations. Defend yourselves by
knowing and applying the Truth of this statement from Paul "Let God be true and every man (how many church?) a liar. That said know the preacher has had a good cry and now I am indignant, if the system wants a fight shame on us if we let them down. Pray for our loved ones and the organization that has attacked them.

A few things to keep in mind while we consider how to rebuild our culture, with good fortune we can do this before we find ourselves surrounded by smoldering
rubble. I kinda had this in my mind like a Jeff Foxworthy bit but it's no joke.  In this the careful reader may also locate the cause of our current debacle.

If you have never done anything (held down a job, paid off a loan, been responsible for your keep, built something of lasting real value) you are in no position to lead.

If you have never raised children to adulthood, while
you may be a practitioner in the field, you are not equipped to make decisions as to the rearing of children; your experience is academic only.

If you cannot do, you should be an observer only.
If any practice cannot boast 70% success avoid it. Play the percentages whenever you can.

Leaders should be able to demonstrate success, and failure. Failure as a practice proves you incompetent, but without the full knowledge of what it is a leader is unproven and thus unpredictable.

If the only success you can point to involves a scoreboard, or a grade card, you have accomplished little to nothing.

Until you have lost someone near and very dear (parent, spouse, sibling, child) you have much to learn about the value of life. Christianity (not perfection) is essential to the trustworthiness of anyone.

Men have a role to play, stand up and play your part.  Women have a role to play, stand up and play your part.  The roles of men and women overlap a bit
but are not the same.

Anyone who cannot treat the weakest among us with
kindness is a brute beast and should be treated appropriately.

Everyone capable should be expected to provide for their own sustenance, and protection.

My friends, two more students were shot in a school in California.  With all the pressure put on gun owners right now it would be easy to forget the crux of the argument.  No matter how many time you ask a question the answer remains the same, 2+2=4.  If you ask me a thousand times the answer will always be the same.  If asked in a foreign country or in Indiana or Idaho or Georgia the answer is the same.  End school violence by meeting the predator with force.  This is the only answer to this horrific problem.  My vehemient prayer is that this never happens again.  But if it happens again or 2 more times or 10 more times the answer remains the same.  Shame on the politicians who will not truthfully answer the question.

On the newtown conn tragedy

I do not rejoice in this but our LORD said the angels of these little ones are always before the face of GOD (paraphrase of Matt. 18:10) and as of the millisecond this beast (that perpatrated this tragedy) left this life he too was in the presence of a just GOD.
That is just. The only earthly justice we could have had is lost to us because we will not permit the adults we trust with the welfare of our children to do so with extreme prejudice.

The message must be clear if you reach out to our children with violence we will respond without compunction. You will not be famous, we will not try and understand you. We will bind our wounds and take your demon riddled carcass out with the rest of today's garbage.  We cannot prevent evil monsters from doing evil we can only respond, which is a pity, but it is all we have.

I have spent a goodly part of my life in a position of
responsibility for the children of others and the first thing I did was resign myself to this, I must use any means available to stop an evil person from touching the children in my care.
